As we continue our journey through this hymn of praise which serves as an encouragement and call to worship prepare to respond and give Him glory. Let’s think about this.
Seeing Clearly
We have such a limited perspective. We simply can not see things clearly just yet. But one day we will.
And not just with eyes of faith. We will actually see Jesus wth our eyes. We will see Him face to face.
We long for that day when what we hope for will finally be realized. Our perspective will be purer and higher and greater. We will see clearly.
But purer and higher and greater will be
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 1 Corinthians 13:12 ESV
Even still, the praises we offer here and now are but a pale comparison to the ones we will offer one day. We do not have a complete understanding of what He has accomplished, but we will eventually. Dimly now, clearly then. In part now, fully then. Purer, higher, greater.
Even still there is coming a day that will cause our greatest rejoicing to pale in comparison. In that day our rejoicing will be purer and higher and greater. Are you longing for that day? Do you ache to experience even more exuberant praise or are you satisfied with today?
RESONATE!
Take a few moments and think about your perspective. How clearly can you see eternal things now? Certainly not as well as you will one day. Pray the simple prayer, “Spirit, cause me to long for greater rejoicing.“
Seeing Jesus
And what makes the difference? The same thing that makes a difference in every circumstance. Seeing Jesus.
Our wonder our transport when Jesus we see
Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 ESV
We are God’s children now, but there is more to come. We will be like Him because we will see Him as He is. Think about the praise you will offer to Jesus when You finally get to see Him face to face. There will be no inhibitions, no holding back. We will simply praise Jesus!
What makes the difference between our rejoicing now and that day? The presence of Jesus. He is with us now but when we finally see Him our wonder and our transport, to be overwhelmed with strong emotion, especially joy, will be greater than imaginable.
RESONATE!
Take a few moments and consider those moments when you first see Jesus. Can you even begin to imagine what that will be like? Pray this simple prayer, “Jesus, I long to be overwhelmed with the joy of seeing You.“
Jesus, thank You for making the difference in my perspective. I long to be overwhelmed with joy in your presence. Moved to places of delight I can not even fathom now. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Welcome to Thursday Thoughts at Resonant 7, where we reflect on the reality of God and resolve to let it resound in our lives, repeatedly. Let’s think about this.
Great things He has taught us Great things He has done
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3 ESV
He has made known to us HIs mercy which was demonstrated most greatly through the redemption He has made available to us through the sacrifice of His Son. This combination of things He has done and things He has taught us is unparalleled. Bless His holy name!
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son
And they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord. Psalm 138:5 ESV
Our rejoicing is great indeed, and all because of Jesus. He gives us first the reason to rejoice and then provides the only way we could have known it, the access through His finished work. We will sing of His ways eternally, but we should get started today. No time like the present.
Take a few moments to talk to Jesus about what has come to your mind, or listen to what He is saying to you, then I will read our text once more, with the refrain.
Praise the Lord praise the Lord Let the earth hear His voice
Praise the Lord praise the Lord Let the people rejoice
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son
And give Him the glory great things He has done
Take the mindfulness of God’s presence cultivated in these last few minutes into the next ones and beyond. Until next time,
Be Resonant.
