Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in heaven along
O praise Him alleluia
Thou rising morn in praise rejoice
Ye lights of evening find a voice
O praise Him alleluia

Listening to the Song of the Wind
You have probably felt the strength of the wind, but have you heard its song? Not just the whistle through the pines but the unique tones created as it reveals its power. Just like you, God made it to give Him praise, and the songs He composes are without equal.
Thou rushing wind that art so strong
For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name! Amos 4:13 ESV
God creates the wind and then uses it to bring glory to His name. But how does the wind give praise to God? Whether it’s rustling through the leaves on the trees, howling through the mountain passes, or moving the mist across the water it’s strength is on display.
The wind is powerful enough to reform the earth. Strong enough to move things for one place to another. All of that movement is a demonstration of the force of the wind. Though you cannot see it there is a might, and song. What a representation of the presence of God!
RESONATE!
Take a few moments and consider the song of the wind. Prepare yourself to listen the next time its strength is on display so you can hear the song the Great Composer is writing. Make this your simple prayer “Lord, help me see Your might.”
Watching for the Dance of the Clouds
Just like the musical art of the wind, there is a visual art to the clouds. Not only can we find shapes that take our imagination to far off places, but there is a dance to the clouds that has a beauty found nowhere else in all creation. Have you ever watched as they drift along like vessels on an invisible stream? Take a few minutes today to simply stop, look up and marvel at the exhibition on display.
Ye clouds that sail in heaven along
He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses. Psalm 135:7 ESV
The wind also moves the clouds across the sky. That is no small accomplishment when you consider their number and variety as well as the circumstances of their formations. As things transpire on the earth below, they continue to flow effortlessly along their journey.
Clouds sailing along through the skies like their own billowing forms of transport, what an image. All that movement designed to point backward to the One who made it and forward to His activity in His creation is whimsical. Beauty and creativity blended cleverly.
RESONATE
Take a few moments and think about the dance of the clouds. Will you take a few moments today to enjoy the show? Maybe right now. Make certain you give glory to the Great Choreographer. Pray this simple prayer, “Father, thank You for the beauty of Your creation.“
Jesus, thank You for letting me hear and see the wonders of Your creation giving You praise. Give me ears to hear and eyes to see what the Spirit is saying about my part in the performance of praise. In Jesus’ name.

Thou rising morn in praise rejoice
Ye lights of evening find a voice

The wind is powerful enough to reform the earth. Strong enough to move things for one place to another. All of that movement is a demonstration of the force of the wind. Though you cannot see it there is a might, What a representation of the presence of God!
Lord, help me see Your might.
Clouds sailing along through the skies like their own billowing forms of transport, what an image. All that movement designed to point backward to the One who made it and forward to His activity in His creation is whimsical. Beauty and creativity blended cleverly.
Father, thank You for the beauty of Your creation.
When was the last time you witnessed a sunrise? It is a supernatural experience if you have eyes to really see it. The way the darkness is split by those first beams of light is awe-inspiring. The hope and promise of a new day and all it may bring is cause for praise.
Spirit, dispel my darkness with Your light.
When was the last time you watched the sunset slowly give away to the twinkle of the starry sky? Have you ever been far away from ambient light so you could clearly see the unimpeded brilliance of a thousand stars? Try to get to such a place sometime and worship.
Jesus, show me Your radiance in the stars.
Take a few moments to talk to Jesus about what has surfaced in your heart, or just listen to what He is saying to you, then we will sing once more.
Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in heaven along
O praise Him alleluia
Thou rising morn in praise rejoice
Ye lights of evening find a voice
O praise Him alleluia
Take the awareness of God’s presence cultivated in these last few minutes into the next ones and beyond. Until next time,
Be Resonant.
