As we conclude our journey through this hymn of praise which serves as an encouragement and call to worship prepare to respond and give Him glory. Let’s think about this.
Through Jesus
His is the way.
There is a very exclusive character to that statement. It seems very narrow-minded at some level. There is only one way, and Jesus is it. People can be so offended by that statement when Christians quote Jesus, but they are much more open-minded when others say it.
Take the Mandalorian from the recent Disney series. Now I know he is just a make believe character but there was something powerful and inspiring about the code that he espoused. A way of living epitomized by a simple phrase,”This is the way”. It seems that as long as you way has no implications on my way I can tolerate it.
Keep in mind, Christians did not come up with this idea. Jesus is the way not because we say so. He said so.
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 ESV
We come to give Him praise because of what He has accomplished in Jesus His Son by providing a way, declaring the truth and offering us life. Salvation comes through Jesus and we come back to the Father through Jesus as well. Invite someone to come today.
There is little better call to worship then the last two lines of this refrain. First, the invitation, come to the Father. Then the path to do so clearly marked, through Jesus the Son. How will you declare that call to worship today? Maybe you will use different words. Ask for His help.
RESONATE!
Take a few moments and think about that call. Who will you offer it to today? It may be one of the only times they will ever hear it. Pray the simple prayer, “Spirit, help me to offer this call to worship today.“
Seeing Jesus
Not everyone responds favorably to that call, but for those who do everything changes. This image depicts the humility that begins to characterize he life of one who embraces the reality that their life is in the hands of One higher than they. And that One loves them, and died for them.
So they give Him glory. Great things He has done.
And give Him the glory great things He has done
I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30 ESV
We praise God with lips and life because we have found our way back to Him. We give Him thanks because He has graciously made that way through His Son. Is your life marked by continually praise and thanksgiving to God for the great things He has done? Do it today.
The call to worship closes with a clear what and why. Give glory to God, because He has done great things. Are you answering that call every day? That is the first step, and one you must continually take, but take the next step and invite others to join you as well.
RESONATE!
Take a few moments and consider if you are giving God glory with your life. Is it a consistent practice? Intentional? Regular? Are you inviting others to join you. Pray this simple prayer, “Jesus, help me invite others to praise.“
Jesus, thank You for making a way back to the Father. Help me to share that way with others and give you glory for offering it to me. I love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Welcome to Thursday Thoughts at Resonant 7, where we reflect on the reality of God and resolve to let it resound in our lives, repeatedly. Let’s think about this.
Praise the Lord praise the Lord Let the earth hear His voice
So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 ESV
Oh that the earth could hear and understand the voice of the Lord! It would change everything. It will change everything, but for those who are not prepared that will not be a welcome change. Praise the Lord and pray the earth will hear his voice and listen.
Praise the Lord praise the Lord Let the people rejoice
But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the Lord!” Psalm 40:16 ESV
When the earth hears His voice they will be able to rejoice in the salvation He has provided for them and join us in our exclamation of joy saying, “Great is the Lord!” Until then, may God help us live out our praise so that others will want to join us glorifying our Lord.
