As we continue our journey through this hymn of praise which serves as an encouragement and call to worship prepare to respond and give Him glory. Let’s tune our hearts.
Hear His Voice
We finish where we began, with a clear call to worship. Clear because it carefully outlines all the reasons and ways to respond. Let us carefully examine each of those as we take apart the refrain of this great call to worship.
We praise the Lord because we have heard His voice and we want the whole earth to hear it as well. Hearing the voice of the Lord has changed our lives, allowing us to find redemption with God and purpose in living for Him. But we do not always praise Him as we should, or as He deserves.
How different might your life be if you committed to praising God everyday and praying that the earth would hear His voice? Would your life look or sound different? If so, why not take some steps today to make those changes so God’s word and His voice can be heard in and through your life?
Praise the Lord praise the Lord Let the earth hear His voice
So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 ESV
Oh that the earth could hear and understand the voice of the Lord! It would change everything. It will change everything, but for those who are not prepared that will not be a welcome change. Praise the Lord and pray the earth will hear his voice and listen.
Do you remember when you first heard the voice of the Lord? Maybe it was not an audible voice but you understood for the first time you needed a Savior and that God had provided One in His Son. Pray that others in your little part of the earth hear His voice today.
RESONATE!
Take a few moments and consider how others might hear God’s voice through your life. Will that require any adjustments from you? Make this your simple prayer “Lord, I pray some in my part of the earth hear Your voice today.”
And Rejoice
When they hear His voice they will rejoice. Not sure you believe that? Think about when the Father spoke at Jesus’ birth. I can not imagine that the crowd was not overcome with praise, except for those who were afraid.
Even still, those who were at first confused by what was happening must have been moved to praise as they came to terms with what had just transpired, no doubt in part because some of the believers were making it clear. That is unless of course they were unwilling to believe what had happened. Messiah had come, and while many believed, not all did.
Praise the Lord praise the Lord Let the people rejoice
But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the Lord!” Psalm 40:16 ESV
When the earth hears His voice they will be able to rejoice in the salvation He has provided for them and join us in our exclamation of joy saying, “Great is the Lord!” Until then, may God help us live out our praise so that others will want to join us glorifying our Lord.
Remember the first time you gave praise to God, rejoicing in your newfound salvation? Wouldn’t you love to hear some of the people in your life offering their first praise today? Ask God to do His saving work in them by name so they can rejoice in Jesus with you.
RESONATE
Take a few moments and consider the potential impact of someone hearing the voice of the Lord. If they do, will you be willing to help them process that experience? Pray a simple prayer like this one, “God, bring _______ to rejoice in You.”
Jesus, thank You for being the voice of the Lord and for making a way for each of us to hear it. Thank You for opening my ears to hear it. Help me to assist others in coming to saving faith in You. In Jesus’ name.

Welcome to Tuesday Tunings at Resonant 7, where we reflect on the reality of God and resolve to let it resound in our lives, repeatedly. Let’s tune our hearts.
To God be the glory great things He has done
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin
And opened the life gate that all may go in
Do you remember when you first heard the voice of the Lord? Maybe it was not an audible voice but you understood for the first time you needed a Savior and that God had provided One in His Son. Pray that others in your little part of the earth hear His voice today.
Lord, I pray some in my part of the earth hear Your voice today.
Remember the first time you gave praise to God, rejoicing in your newfound salvation? Wouldn’t you love to hear some of the people in your life offering their first praise today? Ask God to do His saving work in them by name so they can rejoice in Jesus with you.
God, bring _______ to rejoice in You.
There is little better call to worship then the last two lines of this refrain. First, the invitation, come to the Father. Then the path to do so clearly marked, through Jesus the Son. How will you declare that call to worship today? Maybe you will use different words. Ask for His help.
Spirit, help me to offer this call to worship today.
The call to worship closes with a clear what and why. Give glory to God, because He has done great things. Are you answering that call every day? That is the first step, and one you must continually take, but take the next step and invite others to join you as well.
Jesus, help me invite others to praise.
Take a few moments to talk to Jesus about what has surfaced in your heart, or just listen to what He is saying to you, then we will sing once more.
Praise the Lord praise the Lord Let the earth hear His voice
Praise the Lord praise the Lord Let the people rejoice
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son
And give Him the glory great things He has done
Take the awareness of God’s presence cultivated in these last few minutes into the next ones and beyond. Until next time,Be Resonant.
