Podcast 33.3 Transcript
Welcome to Thursday Thoughts at Resonant 7, where we reflect on the reality of God and resolve to let it resound in our lives, repeatedly. Let’s think about this.
Just as I am Thou wilt receive
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 ESV
We are received based solely on the merits of Jesus Christ given for our salvation. We are drawn to the Father, given eternal life and spared from never-ending anguish if we believe in Him. Even still few choose to come. Thank God for receiving you just as you are.
Wilt welcome pardon cleanse relieve
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:7 ESV
Wicked and unrighteous. Those are the words that describe us before we return to the Lord. His compassion is revealed in the sacrifice of His Son and flows to us through the quickening of our conscience by the Holy Spirit. We are abundantly pardoned. Give praise to God!
Because Thy Promise I believe
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, John 1:12 ESV
Here are the conditions of our surrender. We must receive Him and believe in His name with all the promises it holds which includes becoming children of God. We were separated from Him by our sin with no way back until Jesus made the way for us to come. Thank You Lord.
O Lamb of God I come I come
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!…” John 1:29 ESV
John the Baptist saw his cousin drawing near and exclaimed the wonder of God’s grace. Jesus became the Lamb of God to pay for our sins, and the sins of the whole world. Not everyone sees this and not even all of those who see come. Come to Him again today.
Take a few moments to talk to Jesus about what has come to your mind, or listen to what He is saying to you, then I will read our text once more, with the refrain.

Take the mindfulness of God’s presence cultivated in these last few minutes into the next ones and beyond. Until next time, Be Resonant.
