Podcast 20.1 Transcript
Welcome to Thursday Thoughts at Resonant 7, where we reflect on the reality of God and resolve to let it resound in our lives, repeatedly. Let’s think about this.
Precious Lord, take my hand,
Lead me on, let me stand,
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 ESV
How precious is the comfort we receive when we ask Almighty God to take our hand in His! He banishes fear and dismay. He strengthens us, helps us and upholds us. Thank Him for all He does when we simply ask Him to take our hand.
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Isaiah 40:29 ESV
Unfortunately sometimes we wait until we are at the end of ourselves before we even reach out to God. We can end up tired, weak and worn when we may have avoided such circumstances if we had asked for His help. Even still, give Him praise that He comes to us and supplies every need.
Through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on to the light:
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 ESV
And here is the embodiment of the Godhead, our Incarnate Lord promising us that even in the night and the darkness He will be our light! Thank You Jesus that You are that light and we have that light if we will but look to you. Teach us to do so every day.
Take my hand, precious Lord,
Lead me home.
For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Isaiah 41:13 ESV
Here is the promise to hold our hand. The Lord our God tells us not to fear and then explains why. Because He will help us. If we determine to trust Him, we have nothing to fear because He has all the resources to deal with every difficulty we will ever face. Ask Him to take your hand.
Take a few moments to talk to Jesus about what has come to your mind, or listen to what He is saying to you, then I will read our text once more, with the Refrain.
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand,
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
Through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on to the light:
Take my hand, precious Lord,
Lead me home.
Take the mindfulness of God’s presence cultivated in these last few minutes into the next ones and beyond. Until next time, Be Resonant.
