Thine be the glory risen conquering Son
Endless is the victory Thou o’er death hast won
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away
Kept the folded grave clothes where Thy body lay
Thine is the Glory

As we begin our journey through this hymn ask the Holy Spirit to help you receive and then issue this call to worship. Be sure to find your place in the praise. Let’s tune our hearts.
Risen, Conquering
The earth rumbles. The triumphant fanfare begins. Angels looking like lightning descend. The stone is rolled away for the opening of the tomb.
It would make a great opening for a Hollywood blockbuster, but this is no screenplay. It is the greatest story ever told. All history revolves around this singular event: the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Thine is the glory risen conquering Son
And from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:5-6 ESV
What a powerful scripture to set the tone for these reflections on this hymn! He loves us and has freed us from our sins. To Jesus be all the glory.
When we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are acknowledging that He willingly laid down His life, and also had the authority to take it back up again. This makes Him the firstborn from among the dead, and the only one worthy of glory, honor and majesty.
RESONATE!
Take a few moments and reflect on the wonder of this moment in time. Give glory to Jesus for conquering the grave. Make this your simple prayer “Jesus, You alone are worthy. ”
Endless
We join the angels in their eternal praise for Christ. His victory has no end and neither shall our praise. This is good news.
Endless is the victory Thou o’er death hast won
We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. Romans 6:9 ESV
It is difficult for our mortal, temporal minds to comprehend forever. Endless, never, no longer, are all words that point us in the direction of greater understanding. The glory and victory of Jesus are eternal.
In His resurrection, Jesus demonstrated victory over sin, death and the grave. It is a victory that is without end, meaning He will never die again. He died once for all, and so even if we die before He returns we can be confident we will rise again just as He did.
RESONATE
Take a few moments and try to wrap your mind around forever. What an incredible gift has been given to us in the freedom Jesus purchased for us through His sacrifice. Pray this simple prayer, “Father, thank You for giving us Your Son.“
Jesus, thank You for welcoming me into forever through Your death and resurrection. It will still not be long enough for me to give You all the glory that is due Your name. Even still, Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name.

Thine be the glory risen conquering Son
Endless is the victory Thou o’er death hast won
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away
Kept the folded grave clothes where Thy body lay
When we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are acknowledging that He willingly laid down His life, and also had the authority to take it back up again. This makes Him the firstborn from among the dead, and the only one worthy of glory, honor and majesty.
Jesus, You alone are worthy.
In so doing, Jesus demonstrated victory over sin, death and the grave. It is a victory that is without end, meaning He will never die again. He died once for all, and so even if we die before He returns we can be confident we will rise again just as He did.
Father, thank You for giving us Your Son.
Can you imagine the scene? An earthquake. An angel descending. The stone rolled away. Amazing. But keep this in mind. The stone was not rolled away, so Jesus could get out. It was rolled away so the disciples could get in and see Jesus was no longer there. Hallelujah!
Spirit, thank You for inspiring these words.
John outran Peter but only looked into the tomb, seeing the linen cloths. Though he may have been slower he was bolder so Peter shows up and bursts in to discover Jesus is gone. Though likely already struggling to breathe, that likely took their remaining breath away.
Lord, thank You for taking our breath away.
Take a few moments to talk to Jesus about what has surfaced in your heart, or just listen to what He is saying to you, then we will sing the refrain..
Thine be the glory risen conquering Son
Endless is the victory Thou o’er death hast won
Take the awareness of God’s presence cultivated in these last few minutes into the next ones and beyond. Until next time, Be Resonant.
