Podcast 22.4 Transcript

Welcome to Thursday Thoughts at Resonant 7, where we reflect on the reality of God and resolve to let it resound in our lives, repeatedly. Let's think about this.

Revive us again;

Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Psalm 85:6 ESV

We can no more revive our lifeless faith, than our lifeless bodies. We are trusting God to resurrect us beyond the grave, and we can trust Him to restore and reinvigorate our faith as well. Ask Him to revive you again today so you may rejoice anew.

Fill each heart with Thy love;

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8 ESV

Love is what marks us as the children of God. If we truly know God, we take a posture of love toward others, and not only those who have been good to us. This is not easy, but when we trust God to fill us with that kind of transforming love it is certainly possible. Affirm your trust.

May each soul be rekindled

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13 ESV

Again this idea of God taking the kindling of our souls and warming us with His love and light. Has anything robed your hope, or at least worn it a little thin? Believe again that His purpose is for your to burn for His glory that joy and peace may consume you.

With fire from above.

And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. Acts 2:3 ESV

The Holy Spirit did that work of kindling the souls of the disciples on the day of Pentocost, and He wants to do the same in us every day. He wants not only to rest on us, but to fill us from on high with His divine fire. Will you let Him set your soul ablaze for God's glory today?

Take a few moments to talk to Jesus about what has come to your mind, or listen to what He is saying to you, then I will read our text once more, with the refrain.

Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.

Refrain:
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

Take the mindfulness of God's presence cultivated in these last few minutes into the next ones and beyond.  Until next time,Be Resonant.
